Hello Londoners!
Recently, we have have been guests at London’s highest and best view of the city: The Shard.
Getting to the top
Arrived at London Bridge, it was very easy to find the entrance as it is right next to the underground station. Once we were past security checks, we entered an elevator, which took us to floor 33 in less than 10 seconds and then we entered another one that took us straight to floor 69. All this in less than 1 minute, can you believe it?!
Floor 69
This is where all the action is. There is a nice warm floor where you can admire London at 360 degrees.
You can see the likes of the Tower Bridge, the Gherkin, Canary Wharf, the London Eye and much much more.
Floor 72
The view from here is pretty much the same of the one on floor 69. The only difference is that here you outdoors and it is pretty freezing.
There is also a bar if you are looking for a refreshment or for a nice and warm coffee.
Our view
The view is absolutely astonishing. If you live in London or you are simply a tourist, this is a must. Our advice is to choose a sunny day and to go towards sunset, so that you can admire London both by day and by night. If possible, avoid going on Saturdays as it can get really busy and the queues are really long. Also, if you are a London resident, there is the possibility to apply for a pass for 2016, which grants you access anytime you want until the 31 December 2016. We have our pass and we can’t wait to post beautiful pictures all year long!
