According to the Sunday Times Best Places to Live Guide list, with its historic houses Fitzrovia is currently the best place to live in London.

The research is based on factors such as crime rates, house price, quality of life and school performances.

This area, first developed in the 18th Century, was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud.

Vauxhall, Bermondsey and Hampstead were also included in this list.
